SBPOT nasceu em 2001. Em 2004, promovia seu primeiro Congresso em Salvador, com um n\u00famero surpreendente de pessoas presentes. A cada dois anos, este Congresso aconteceu numa regi\u00e3o do Brasil: Bras\u00edlia, Florian\u00f3polis e S\u00e3o Paulo. Em 2012 ele ocorrer\u00e1 no Rio de Janeiro, como parte essencial de nossa estrat\u00e9gia de regionaliza\u00e7\u00e3o das atividades da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n<p>Outras atividades da SBPOT, vinculadas a esta estrat\u00e9gia, foram organizadas no ano de 2011, em eventos promovidos por entidades parceiras, em diversas localidades. Pretendemos, no V CBPOT, ampliar as tem\u00e1ticas de abrang\u00eancia dos nossos Congressos e promover a aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o entre profissionais, docentes, pesquisadores e estudantes nacionais e internacionais, outras estrat\u00e9gias da nossa Associa\u00e7\u00e3o.
