The movement is a universal human trait that appeared before the written language; dancing is a vital means of communication and expression because it is in the biological root of every human being. Therefore, the goal of this work is to fulfill a basic human need to move himself according to his natural rhythms. During the creation process, a person expresses himself and adapts his inner reality and integrates himself to an outer reality. A more integrated, flexible and spontaneous person can synthesized himself with more awareness to the natural flow of LIFE by amplifying his capacity of judgement in a new self-absorbed reorganization.
The work consists of the association of creative and technical resources of dancing to psycodiagnosis and psycotherapy resources from Psychology and
Bioenergy Analysis; through external movements, we can modify the flow of the body movement, whereas, the voluntary brings the non-voluntary, activating a visceral memory, the brain file and the affective tone that increase self-awareness and a fully potential integrity of the Being. The Analysis of the Movement is performed during a creative coreographycal improvisation, where the person is being analyzed in relation to movement factors such as: strength, time, space and flow. The person is also observed in his relation to the freedom of expression and graceful body movements, an analysis of the amount of energy released or unreleased in the movement is done; that is, under a psychoanalytical observation it correlates to a libidinous expression and the ability of giving yourself to non-voluntary body movements. During the practice, different movement themes are explored like falling and rising and light or heavy attitudes in associated with the power of gravity. The sound of the live percussion is used to link the life beat. In a pedagogical application, this work applied in a pre-school environment showed a higher capacity of representation and abstraction. An additional therapycal application with adolescents in social risk, the results have showed an increase in self-esteem, joy expressions and a strengthening of bonds.
ANALYSIS OF MOVEMENT AND DANCING AS FACILITATORS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN POTENTIALITIES
PROJECT DANÇA VIDA – SUBURBAN DANCING
PAULA VITAL REIS 1
The project was generated based on studies and previous projects where it has been checked the importance of body awareness and the capacity of body movements in the cognitive, emotional, physical and social development. In these studies, it has been noticed that when the body self expression is free and adapted to reality, the satisfaction and pleasure of moving and developing oneself is higher.
Considering the life style children and adolescents have in the suburbs, with various personal and social risks, exposed to all kinds of discomfort, lack of caring, uncertainties and even abuse, it was observed that their muscle tonus showed a hipertonia and difficulties of expression and social encounters. It has related a level of tension that seemed to avoid the realization of natural movements that always seek for its opposite in order to compensate these movements. For instance, the changing movements of contraction and release of muscles that should have an appropriate tonus in order to perform safety creative movements and the innate spontaneity of children.
For this reason, the goal of this work consists of searching through an expressive movement, while integrating what is conscious and unconscious and therefore, promoting a more harmonical and gracious movement. It consists of efficient and coordinated actions adapted to the person’s inner and outer reality (Ego integration), maximizing a better total potential accomplishment.
The methods practiced were classes with basic notions of modern and contemporary dance, bioenergy exercises, creative and coreographycal dance innovations. The evaluations were held through HTP, Human Figure Drawing, expressive movement and speaking.
The results demonstrate an addition of self-esteem, decrease of violent behavior, bonds strengthening, an increase of self-awareness and emotions, and more creativity and joy expressions proving what we expected.
